The Sedgefield Hunt
Annual Foxhunting School for the Horse and Rider The sport of mounted foxhunting involves disciplined riding with hounds as they chase a fox across the countryside. It is very exciting. No matter what your age, if you enjoy eventing, hunter pace events, or trail riding, consider this school. It is a comfortable and fun way to learn the basics of this fascinating sport. The school involves cross-country riding over sometimes challenging obstacles at different speeds. Jumping is not required. The school also teaches the strategy of foxhunting, the organization and etiquette of the hunt and the importance of safety. Both horse and rider will have a chance to be with the hounds. The school builds up to actual autumn hunting with the Sedgefield Hunt. English and western riders may participate.
